Day 01: Arrival at Manali Airport

On arrival at Bhuntar Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to Manali. In the afternoon, visit the ancient Hidimba Temple, built in a pagoda style and linked to the Mahabharata epic. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Hidimba, wife of Bhim, and is considered the chief deity of the valley.

Day 02: Manali to Jispa

Today’s drive takes you through the Atal Tunnel, bypassing the Rohtang Pass (3900 m) and significantly reducing travel time. Enjoy views of the rugged Lahaul Valley along the Chandra River. Visit Raja Ghepan Temple at Sisu and witness the confluence of Chandra and Bhaga rivers at Tandi, forming the Chenab River. Jispa offers stunning mountain views and a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 03: Jispa to Sarchu

Today, drive over the spectacular Baralacha La Pass with views of snow-capped peaks. Cross Darcha, a village buried under a landslide in 1976, with large boulders still scattered across the landscape. Arrive at Sarchu, a high-altitude plateau and your first night above the tree line. Stay hydrated and use oxygen cylinders if needed, as altitude sickness is common here.

Day 04: Sarchu to Tsomoriri Lake

This is the longest and most scenic drive of the trip. Pass through the stunning Morey Plains, a 45 km-long plateau that was once a lake. Stop briefly at the Tsokar Saltwater Lake, known for its salt deposits. Arrive at Tsomoriri Lake, one of Ladakh’s largest lakes, shimmering like a pearl against the backdrop of brown mountains with snow-capped peaks.

Day 05: Rest Day at Tsomoriri Lake

Spend a leisurely day exploring the surroundings of Tsomoriri Lake. Visit Korzok Village, one of the remotest settlements in Ladakh, and interact with the local nomadic communities. Walk around the lake and capture its beauty with your camera.

Day 06: Tsomoriri to Leh

Hemis Monastery: The largest and wealthiest monastery in the region.

Day 08: Leh to Pangong Lake

Today’s highlight is the drive to Pangong Lake, the largest lake in the region, situated at 4350 meters. Stretching over 900 sq km, 60% of the lake lies in China. The journey offers breathtaking views, and on arrival, you’ll be captivated by the lake’s ever-changing shades of blue. A packed lunch will be provided en route.
